Greetings.............. Doesn't time fly when your having fun! my last posting was March and now we’ve just celebrated Pentecost!

Well, the assessed sermon has been and gone and I would like to thank all those who made a special effort to be at that evening service, your encouragement was tangible.

I have now had my feedback from Ruth my assessor and in the main it was all very positive and affirming stuff, I have something to build on.

I have just completed another assignment that asked the question 'Who is Jesus?' It was primarily focused on the last week of Jesus' life as recorded in Luke's Gospel and had supplementary questions about my own understanding of the Kingdom of God e.g. What is is it? Who is it ? and where is it?

I have discovered just how good it is good to stop and ask ourselves questions such as this, after all we each pray for 'God's Kingdom to come' every time we use the Lord's Prayer. Do we really understand what we are asking for?

On Saturday April 30 I had my second year group meeting and our group of 24 trainees where taken through a 'led seminar discussion' at St John's in Widnes. This was review of our learning thus far in the course but presented by each one of us in a discussion environment, very interesting and very challenging but also lots of laughs along the way!

This was all facilitated by David Gait, vicar at St John's Widnes and also 'Officer for Reader Formation'

I was unable to attend my last midweek tutorial due to work commitments and so I await the next assignment with baited breath. I am however busy preparing my year end project that will take place some time in June. For this I have to choose a subject area from a list provided and then deliver my research outcomes to 'a group of my choosing'. This is not to be in the context of a Sunday Service but at some other time. So watch this space.

I continue to juggle time with work becoming more frenetic by the day, but have to say I was encouraged recently by a piece of thought provoking graffiti spied through the window of a South Western train on my way to The Salvation Army college at Denmark Hill near Camberwell:

"Time is God's way of keeping everything from happening at once"

Thank you for your continued prayer support and please........ keep on praying.

God Bless Alan S
